Arnold Budd

A new resident of Far North Queensland, Arnold brings to us a wealth of experience lobbying for disability issues, particularly in the area of access. In Western Australia, Arnold sat on numerous disability reference groups and acted as Consultant to Disability Services, Main Roads, Dept Transport and local Councils. His successes include having fines for parking in disabled bays without a permit increased and enforced, and having all rest areas on the road from Perth to Kununurra (on the border with NT) fitted with disabled toilets.

Arnold currently volunteers with the Cairns City Council, advising on disability access issues and has successfully established a Disability Reference Group within the Council. In 2006, Arnold was honoured to receive a Qld Govt Disability Action Week Award for his work on improving access in Cairns. He is a quiet achiever who knows his stuff, and we are very pleased to gain the benefit of his expertise.
